Villa Borghese is the public park most loved by Romans. 80 hectares of paths, lawns, statues and a small lake with rowing boats (this one's paid). You can enter for free from Piazzale Flaminio (near Piazza del Popolo), from Porta Pinciana (Via Veneto) or from Viale dei Bambini. Perfect for a picnic, a run, reading a book, or bringing kids to the cinema dei piccoli or the Bioparco (paid). Galleria Borghese requires a ticket, but the park is free.
