Orange Garden — the romantic secret of the Aventino

Parco Savello, known as the Giardino degli Aranci, is one of Rome's most romantic spots. It's located on the Aventino, and while small, it's packed with charm: a tree-lined avenue of bitter orange trees (the fruit isn't edible), a balcony overlooking the dome of San Pietro and the Tevere. It's perfect at sunset. Free, always open during daylight hours. Just a few steps away is also the famous 'keyhole' of the Ordine di Malta, where if you look through it you'll see the dome of San Pietro perfectly framed.
