EUR (Esposizione Universale Roma) is the rationalist neighbourhood built to the south for the 1942 Exposition. Massive marble buildings, clean geometries, the famous 'Square Colosseum' (Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana). At the centre an artificial lake with swans and a 1.5 km walk. Great for jogging, sunbathing, or bringing the kids. A very different atmosphere from the historic centre. You can get there by metro B (EUR Magliana or EUR Palasport).
