St. Peter's Basilica is free: you enter without a ticket. What you pay for (separately) is the climb to the dome and entry to the Treasury museum. Inside you'll find Michelangelo's Pietà (immediately to the right as you enter), Bernini's baldachin above the altar, the enormous naves. Strict dress code: shoulders and knees covered, no low necklines. Security checks at the entrance (like at the airport): long lines in the morning, shorter after 4 PM.
